Grandparents Come to Town

Grandma Nana and Grandpa Papa came to visit us October 6-12.
The first thing we did was go to the family music class that I teach! It was a special treat for the boys because they haven’t been able to come to class in a while. I think Grandpa had the most fun in music, haha. After music class, we went to the new SPAM Museum!
At home, Tanner and Grandma hot creative with some old t-shirts.
Grandma and Grandpa got to come with us on our annual trip to Farmer John’s Pumpkin Patch. This was our 4th year there!
The cutest little pumpkins of 2016! Tanner age 5, Dallin age 3.
After we picked out our pumpkins, me, Dad and Mom went to the raspberry patch on the farm to pick raspberries. They were a big hit at home.
The following day, Saturday, we drove to Rochester to enjoy the Sekapp Apple Orchards. This was a new place for us. (The orchard we’ve gone to in the past didn’t yield enough apples this year due to a late frost). We had a good time! Tanner liked the little maze of hay bales.
There were lots and lots of apples to pick! Jeremy was pretty picky about which apples were allowed to go home with us.
We got to take a wagon ride out to the middle of the orchard.
Jeremy showed the boys his trick where he juggles and eats apples at the same time.
Tanner had been complaining about a tummy ache all morning. Finally, while we were the farthest away from the car possible, he threw up. Poor kid.
At least the sun was shining!
Before leaving, we made sure to get some apple treats from the food truck. We also got apple butter, apple salsa and honey from the farm.
Later that night.
Tanner seemed to be okay after throwing up. We had a great day at church on Sunday. Tanner drew this cool creature during church. He really loves drawing and is getting more and more detailed!
Sunday afternoon the boys spent time outside with the grandparents.
Painting Halloween decorations with Nana.
Monday morning, Tanner broke out in hives. We’re pretty sure the vomit and hives were related, and most likely caused by the raspberries.
For lunch, I took Mom and Dad to Tendermaid. It’s a cute little malt shop and burger place in our town, rated one of the top diners to eat in all of Minnesota. They serve ground beef burgers, yum!
Then we went to Sweet Reads book store on Main Street and Mom was in love with the place. It’s a little local book store that a 4th grade teacher owns. It’s more like a museum, and she owns the largest collection of Bernstain Bear books and trinkets in the whole world.
The little train display is part of the bookstore.
Also on Monday, Tanner had his last day of soccer class.
Dallin and Papa getting story time together at bedtime.
I think these pictures are from Tuesday morning. I worked that day, so grandma and grandpa did some fun things with the boys, including taking them to Chuck E Chease’s in Rochester!
On Tuesday evening, Tanner had his first class of Taekwando! Grandma and Grandpa took him! He’s the kid in the blue shirt.
When they came home, everyone showed us what Tanner learned in Taekwando.
Since Tuesday was their last evening with us, Grandpa helped the boys carve one of our pumpkins!
Dallin was more interested in playing marble works with Grandma.
It was so great to have our parents join us for some of the Autumn season.
We love you, Grandpa Papa and Grandma Nana. Thank you so much for visiting us!!!
