So July was awhile ago! But I need to get this in the books! We had a lot of summer fun in mid-July. This post covers July 5-July 20, 2020.
We took grandma and grandpa to the zoo!
All four boys went golfing and did really well.
We had a piano party with grandma and grandpa to celevrate Tanner’s success with completeing all his lessons int he piano primer book. He was really looking forward to it, but got a pretty nervous and overwhelmed when the time came to play. But he got through it and we were all really proud of him! Dallin also played a few songs, too! Then we had yummy cake.
We’re so glad the grandparents could be with us for foruth of July and a little bit after, too!
The next couple of weeks, we survived the pandemic with pillow fights…
drumming…
legos…
working at home…
and hikes with our friends! We had a really fun time with them on a trail that’s right next to our street!
Then it was time for Jr Lifeguard Camp!!! The boys did 5 days of swimming, beach safety, rescue drills, running, beach games, paddle boarding and even surfing! Tanner and Dallin were super worried about the camp. When we picked them up the first day, they said they loved it. The camp made them really comfy masks and gave them brand new rash guards. They were put in separate groups and made a couple of new friends. It was really nice for them to get some space apart from each other- first time since March! At the end of the week they begged to do it again next year. We can see why this is the most popular summer camp in San Diego!
Both boys learned how to get up and catch the waves on a surf board!!!
During their camp, Jeremy worked our in nature.
I taught some music camps in the park near my home. This was the first time I taught in person with anyone since the shutdowns and it was amazing!! Also the first time I taught outside, and the little park in our complex was PERFECT for music lessons. I’m so grateful the HOA has allowed us to continue.
During down time the boys snuck shows on their dad’s computer…
Wrestled…
baked cookies…
and eggs in a basket…
and played around on the skateboard!
We also had a party with the neighbors to celebrate birthdays. Most of the kids on our street have birthdays all within the summer months. Our neighbors were really becoming a key part of our lives during all the shutdowns.
One day, Jeremy took Tanner up to HB to surf with Matt. They didn’t have luck thoguh because the water super cold and Tanner couldn’t bring himself to get in the ocean. So instead, they came to Matt and Johanna’s house and made cake and played Nintendo games!
