These pictures are from May 16 to June 27, 2018.
A traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall came to our county fairgrounds. On our way home from Dallin’s birthday camping trip, we stopped by to check it out. The boys had lots of good questions, and it was cool to tell them that I’ve been to Vietnam and walked on the battlefields of the war.
“Mom, it’s a sand castle made out of laundry!”
Dallin’s preschool graduation was very cute.
Tanner was so proud of his little brother!
His amazing teacher, Mrs. Bickler.
Last day of music for Dallin’s class.
Beautiful spring/summer rain!
We got a slip-n-slide!! It worked really well the first two days, then started falling apart. It barely lasted long enough for some people to try it at the family reunion a few weeks later.
We had the Blake family over before they left on their long trip. Their little boy and Tanner are only 2 weeks apart in age and love to play together.
And I love being with Anita!
Both of these adults playing slip n slide look like Jeremy, but one of them is Uncle Matt. They made up a cool game as you run onto the slide.
We got story time with Uncle Matt two nights in a row! He came to Austin for the beginning of his summer internship with Hormel. He spent most of his summer working at an office in Anaheim, CA, but came out to Austin several times!
Ok, in this picture, Matt looks way taller.
But the bubble shows that Jeremy is taller.
Fun to compare their looks each time they get together.
For the first week of my summer, I helped Leighsa get her house ready to move. That’s what this picture represents.
Another beautiful rainfall.
When Dallin gets mosquito bites, he swells up a lot. (possibly skeeter syndrome). He got a bite on his ear that turned into a mini balloon. When this happens, we apply lavender oil, and the swelling goes down within a day or two.
Here’s both ears to compare. He sure looked goofy.
And here’s one on his forehead.
Dallin got out of school one week before Tanner. It was fun to snuggle with him for his nap time.
Tanner’s last day of school! He was so excited for school to be over. I balled like a baby. I was really sad that all his amazing experiences at Woodson were over. Tanner grew so much this year in all areas, especially in academics and managing his emotions and anxiety. Though he may not realize it, his therapists, classroom teachers, specialty teachers and parents worked hard to give him the best experiences they could. Fun facts: He left kindergarten reading at level H, could add and subtract any numbers between -10 to 100 with little effort, liked to add and subtract with 3 digit numbers, could count to 1,000 in several ways and would play around with multiplication for fun.

Nature Camp at the Hormel Nature Center. Jeremy signed the boys up for separate classes, and went with them each to their first day of camp. I went with them on their second and third days. They had a blast and learned a lot!
(This is what Tanner does with his arms for security when he is nervous. Sweet boy.)
Jeremy joined the city softball league for the 4th summer in a row. Here are the kids playing around during Jeremy’s game.
Dinner and bonfire with the Reid family!
Culver’s
I had a committee meeting at the HHH, and the boys got permission to take pictures of things in the house that they thought was interesting. Here are my favorite shots that they got.
The best part of summer in this town is free school lunch!! We went almost every single day!
This picture shows that I spent a day with Angie cleaning out the nursery cupboard at church. There was tons of puzzles, trucks, dolls, art supplies and books to go through. It was a ton of work, but it looked amazing when we were done! We gave our excess supplies to school groups and non-profits in town.
We signed Tanner up for baseball with parks and rec. Jeremy was definitely more excited about it than Tanner was. Here he is getting some photos!
The girls at church had a “cupcake war” activity and were asked to bring a special guest.
Alainea decided to ask Jeremy! The had a really fun time decorating cupcakes as creatively as possible. They made a Peter Pan themed cake and a tractor cake! Alainea also gave a very nice card to Jeremy for Father’s day.
I began a series of music camps called Music Make and Take. It was really fun to do! Two of the days I did it, Tanner and Dallin came and were really well behaved. I was so glad of that!
This robin’s nest was built right next to our trash can. Later they hatched and all survived!
Jeremy decided to try this bike riding event with the county. We cheered for him as he came to the finish line. But it wasn’t a race, so no one else was there, haha. He rode his own route, over 45 miles. He said it was extrememly boring, but he’s glad he tried it. Jeremy only likes riding his bike if it’s to actually go somewhere.
The next day, he got a good nap in. And it was kind of funny because he was tossing this dryer ball right before he fell asleep.
This is one of my dear friends, Jayne, at a church women’s activity!
Tanner made this GIANT paper airplane with about 15 pieces of paper, and it actually flew!
He also bought this skateboard with his own money!
At school lunch, we always play in the courtyard after eating. We tried to bring friends with us as often as possible this summer, and it was well worth the effort!
We finally got a new roof! Just in time for Tanner’s birthday and the family reunion!
